Membrane Shrinkage and Bridging at Roof Edges
Some membranes shrink with age. They pull at walls and curbs and can tear flashing.
Signs
Membrane stretched tight across the corner where roof meets wall, or pulled away from edges.
Risk
Tension can tear seams or flashings and pull fasteners.
Repair
Releasing tension, adding membrane, and re-flashing details. Widespread shrinkage may point toward replacement.
